LED Badge Install & Setup Guide
This guide is for RVP Supply LED grille badges/emblems. Most of our LED badges install the same way using the included hardware, backplate, Bluetooth module, and plug-and-play harness.
Before installing, identify which harness style you have and follow the correct section below.
Important: Installation may vary depending on your vehicle, grille style, badge location, and how much access you have behind the grille. We recommend professional installation if you are not comfortable working around vehicle wiring.
What Comes Included
Your LED badge kit normally includes:
- LED badge/emblem
- Bluetooth module/controller
- Plug-and-play harness
- Mounting bolts/screws
- Backplate for securing the badge to the grille
- Required hardware for the badge install
Note: Our LED badges are not stick-on badges. They do not use 3M tape. They mount using the included bolt/screw and backplate system.
Before You Install
Before mounting the badge to the grille, we recommend connecting the harness and testing everything first.
Check that:
- The badge turns on
- The app connects
- The colors change correctly
- The badge is not flickering
- All sections of the badge light up
- The wiring and plugs are fully connected
Do not fully install the badge until you confirm it works correctly.
Step 1: Identify Your Harness Style
Harness Type 1: Fuse Tap Harness — Older Style
This is our older harness style.
Use this section if your harness has:
- Fuse tap connection
- Ground wire
- Bluetooth module
- LED badge plug
- 3 fuse tap adapter styles included
The fuse tap harness connects to the fuse box and can be wired so the badge turns on/off with the vehicle, depending on which fuse is used.

Harness Type 2: Battery Tap Harness — New Style
This is our updated harness style.
Use this section if your harness has:
- Battery terminal ring connector
- Ground wire
- Integrated Bluetooth module
- LED badge plug
- No fuse tap adapters
The battery tap harness connects to a 12V battery terminal, fuse box terminal, or under-hood power point. It has a metal ring terminal at the end of the power wire. You loosen the positive terminal bolt, place the ring terminal under the bolt, then tighten it back down.
This harness is plug-and-play and does not require cutting or splicing.

If a video is not available yet, follow the steps below and contact us before installing if you are unsure.
Step 2: Choose Your Power Connection
For Fuse Tap Harnesses
The fuse tap harness connects to the vehicle’s fuse box.
We recommend using a spare/open fuse location when possible. The fuse you choose will decide how the badge behaves:
- Constant power fuse: Badge can stay powered even when the vehicle is off. You can turn it off through the app.
- Accessory/ignition fuse: Badge turns on/off with the vehicle.
The harness includes multiple fuse tap adapter styles so it can fit different vehicle fuse types.
Important:
Avoid tapping into major vehicle systems such as ECU, airbag, ABS, or other critical safety/control modules. Using the wrong fuse location can cause vehicle issues.
Fuse Tap Install Notes
- Insert the original fuse into the open slot on the fuse tap.
- Make sure the fuse tap is seated properly.
- The fuse tap direction may need to be adjusted depending on clearance.
- Connect the ground wire to a clean metal frame/body ground.

For Battery Tap Harnesses
The battery tap harness connects to a 12V power source such as:
- Positive battery terminal
- Under-hood jump post
- Fuse box power terminal
The power wire has a metal ring terminal. Place the ring terminal under the positive terminal/jump post/fuse terminal bolt and tighten it securely.
The ground wire should be connected to a clean metal ground point on the vehicle frame/body.
Important Notes:
- Vehicle should be off and not running during installation.
- Make sure the positive connection is secure.
- Make sure the ground connection is secure.
- Keep wiring away from fans, belts, heat, sharp edges, and moving parts.
- The badge can be turned on/off through the app.
- This harness does not require choosing a fuse slot.
Step 3: Mounting the Badge
Most RVP Supply LED badges are designed for grille installation.
The badge mounts using the included bolt/screw and backplate. The badge sits on the front side of the grille, and the backplate secures it from behind the grille.
Basic mounting process:
- Choose the badge location on the grille.
- Check access behind the grille.
- Place the badge in position.
- Install the backplate behind the grille.
- Tighten the included hardware.
- Route the wiring safely toward the power source.
- Test the badge before finalizing the wiring.
Do not overtighten the hardware. Tighten enough to secure the badge firmly against the grille.
Vehicle-Specific Install Notes
Dodge Charger
Compatible years: 2011–2023
Common badge locations:
- Upper grille
- Lower grille
The bumper does not always need to be removed, but upper grille installs can be harder to access depending on the year and grille style.
For some installs, removing extra trim or bumper components may make the install easier.

Step 4: LED HUE / RVP Supply App Setup
Our LED badges are app controlled.
You can use:
- LED HUE app
- RVP Supply app for iOS
The Bluetooth device name will show as:
SP110E
Once connected, make sure the app settings are correct.
Correct App Settings
Use these settings:
- Color Order: RGB
- Controller Type: WS2811
- Total Pixels: 600
These settings are important. If the badge flickers, shows the wrong colors, or does not work correctly, check these settings first.
You do not need to rename the controller, but you can if you want to.
Step 5: Turning the Badge On/Off
If your badge is connected to constant power, it can stay powered even when the vehicle is off. You can turn the badge off through the app.
If your badge is connected through an accessory/ignition fuse, it may turn on/off with the vehicle depending on which fuse was used.
The badge/harness does not drain the battery under normal use when connected properly.
Water Resistance Notes
The LED badge itself is water-resistant.
Harness water resistance depends on which harness style you have:
New Battery Tap Harness
The newer harness has an integrated Bluetooth module and is water-resistant. Even then, we recommend mounting it in a protected area away from direct water exposure when possible.
Old Fuse Tap Harness
The older harness has an open Bluetooth module that is not waterproof. Keep the Bluetooth module away from water and mount it in a dry/protected area.
You can wash around the badge, but avoid spraying high-pressure water directly into the wiring, plug connections, or Bluetooth module area.
Troubleshooting
Badge Does Not Turn On
Check the following:
- Make sure all plugs are fully connected.
- Make sure the power connection is secure.
